The Pleiades (M45), also known as the Seven Sisters, is one of the closest and most recognizable open star clusters in the night sky. Located in the constellation Taurus at a distance of approximately 440 light years, it is surrounded by delicate blue reflection nebulosity created by interstellar dust reflecting the light of its hot young stars.
